Students are working on test corrections and flashcards from chapter 3 test.  Due to low scores, everyone will be retaking the chapter 3 test on Monday, November 4, 2013.  I will inout the higher of the two test scores.  Students need to get there test signed and bring it back tomorrow.

Students are working on the chapter 3 reflection and then beginning the map assignment for chapter 4.  For the map, they need to recreate the map on page 253 in the text.  Both the reflection and map are due tomorrow.  You can find the map worksheet here.

Students must finish their final draft of the short essay.  Today they worked on the last of the chapter 3 notes, which can be found here.  The chapter 3 test will be Friday, October 25th.

There is  no homework tonight, as students should have finished the Q-notes - Slavery in medieval Africa in class.

Students learned about African education and the importance of storytelling.  Tonight they need to finish the outline flow-map and write the final draft of their African fable in their interactive notebook.

Students need to read pg. 231 in the text and complete Q-notes ch. 3-3 Life in Medieval Africa, then complete one of the two options for the left-side assignment.

Today we are finishing up the vocabulary for ch. 3-2/3-3.  The words are Swahili, matrilineal, oral history, and extended family.  For each word, students need to complete the Frayer model and illustrate the definition.
